A Sex Dream.... About WHO???

Have you ever had an inappropriate sex dream?

No? Oh.... er.... no, no, neither have I. But my... er... friend has. Her name is... um... Cherie. Yes, Cherie. And Cherie's had quite a few.

Now, some may argue that any sex dream that is not about one's partner is inappropriate. Others may argue that any sex dream about one's partner is inappropriate. Others may argue that any sex dream at all is excellent, and that we shouldn't be looking a gift bonk in the mouth.

In my Cherie's opinion, however, an 'inappropriate' sex dream is one which stars someone one should not be dreaming about - a relative, a close friend, a close friend's parent, someone of the same sex (if one is heterosexual), someone of the opposite sex (if one is gay) or just someone one finds really unattractive.

Cherie's inappropriate sex dream was the last kind. Oh, though she may have occasionally had the second kind too. And maybe, once or twice, the fourth. But if so, she didn't tell me.

It's always disconcerting to wake up from a dream in which you have done something utterly bizarre. I mean, dreams are not visited upon you from beyond. They arise from your subconscious. You create them. So when you dream that you're doing the wild thing with someone really, really unexpected - well, you can't help but re-examine your mind. You wake up and wince and think, where the hell did that come from?

At least, that's what Cherie tells me.

And then, when you see the person you had the dream about, you feel all weird. You look at them in a completely different way, because you've suddenly seen them without their clothes on (except that you haven't, of course, your subconscious has, and even your subconscious hasn't really seen them, it's just seen some version of them that it created). But it still feels weird. It's almost like you really have had sex with them, except that you haven't at all, or at least you have, but they haven't had sex with you (unless they have too, in a dream of their own, which is getting into a whole different realm of bizarre).

Or at least, that's what Cherie tells me.

Happily, though, I haven't had any such dreams. I dream only of my husband, and of failing my university exams (even though I finished uni about a hundred years ago). Oh, and of houses floating in the air, which really freaks me out. But that's a whole other story.

As for Cherie, however, I'll make sure she keeps me posted.

So tell me - have you ever had a totally inappropriate sex dream?

  1. Kerri ! NO dream about sex is inappropriate, especially if it was good sex, and didn't cost anything.........

  2. I had an ISD (inappropriate sex dream) about my (male) teacher in grade six and was so very very horrified that I almost flunked primary school. I was eleven. *shudders*

  5. If I had to dredge through my memory, I'd probably come across more inappropriate sex dreams than appropriate ones... and we'd all end up with the heebie jeebies, so best not go there.

  6. Sex dreams are only inappropriate if they end before the crucial moment.  And then they are more infuriating than inappropriate (or at least the bastard that woke you before finishing his dream job).

But..er...nope. Not me. Not ever. Not ALL The Time.

  10. i had one about a guy who was a part of an extended group of friends the first night i met him (despite the fact i did not find him attractive). When we met again several weeks later for the second time i acted far too familiar with him, but my brain told me we'd slept together ....

  11. My friend tells me that she wakes up with the biggest case of the guilts after some ISD action and feels like a slutface wife all day. Until she hits the pillow for the sequel.

  15. I just woke up from a dream about a big black snake. It was gigantic and in my friends garden.  I don't even want to start analysing that.   I also had an inappropriate dream about Tom Gleeson the comedian once.    Tell Cherie she's perfectly normal x

  16. I keep hoping to have an ISD involving Simon Baker,  no luck so far....but then if I'm hoping to have one, maybe it wouldn't qualify as "inappropriate"? hmmm...

  17. I had a sex dream about a stranger, which didn't seem inappropriate at the time until I met them in a behind the till in the chemist the next day when I was out with my mother in law.  I became stupidly red, awkward and embarrassed and could hardly speak.  I felt sure I'd been busted by everyone.  It still makes me freak a bit  now.  How can my brain predict someone?!!!!

    Too weird?

  25. Guys never have this problem.

For starters, every man has actively thought about having sex with every woman he has ever met, regardless of your race, color, creed, weight, annoyance factor or personality.

A sex dream for men is simply what we spend the day thinking about minus the mental effort with a good rest thrown in.

  26. I'd have to agree here. I think using some of the terms here, I had 3 sex dreams on the drive to my office this morning. It's just a bloke thing.

  27.  "YES!!! That's exactly what it's like!!!" Cherie told me.

I've actually woken up a couple of times after a sex dream asking my subconscious, "What the hell was that all about? What the hell were you thinking? What is wrong with you?"

Because my subconscious has been polite and declined a hot and sweaty offer. Ridiculous.

  28. I know I have, just can't remember who! I agree with thekimbird - Simon Baker would also be my choice! (I am a new follower - found you via TIna Gray{dot} Me. I am at http://ramblingmum-mummabear1970.blogspot.com/

  29. omg. I was once having a purely innocent dream about a co-worker and he suddenly started groping me. It was most inappropriate. My boyfriend at the time thought that it was ok to play with my boobs while I was asleep.  Thus causing the dream.
Very wrong. very. I still can't look at this co-worker without thinking about that dream.

apart from that, I never have any inappropriate dreams because I am too saintly.

  30. I don't have nearly enough sex dreams. Sigh.

I have had a dream where I find out there was a mistake and I never really successfully finished high school, so I had to go back as a 40 y.o.

Now if only I could make that one into a sex dream. Of course I wouldn't be 40, otherwise that would be just not right and illegal, but if I wasn't 40, then that would ruin the whole premise of the dream, so I would be a teenager in high school having sex with inappropriate people, not really what I was going for.

    Stop rambling, Shelly.
