So. I have a treat for you.
Just when I think I can't share more of the intimate and mortifying details of my life.
Just when I think there is nothing left to laugh at.....
This turns up.
Remember that TV mini-series I did when I was 16? Well, none of the footage remains, and sadly my only VHS copy of the show disintegrated long before the invention of the DVD.
However, an intrepid reader, Suzie, dug this up from the archives of the Australian Film and Sound Archives. A very short clip from my series, Butterfly Island, showing me, as Sally, with Grandma hair, Harry Highpants shorts, no bra, and a man wearing long white socks.
I figured I could either show it to you myself, or wait until someone else outed me.
And so, without further ado, here it is.
My shame.
Awwwww.... You haven't changed a bit. Well, at least the hair is better :-)
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOLOLOL! Jeez, Kerri, you had great eyebrows back then too! Nice work, Suzi, for finding this. And THANKYOU Kerri for sharing. That's a gift that'll keep on giving! ;)
ReplyDeleteOMFG. Which from now on stands for Oh. My. F**king. Grandma.
ReplyDeleteI literally just inhaled and then snorted my pepsi while watching that. I think I have damaged my sinuses.
But it was worth it.
(I remember that guy, shit we're old)
Smooth talker.
ReplyDeletex
PS - the hair. I realise it's 1985 so it was always going to be about the hair, but... the hair.
PRICELESS! And you're rather gorgeous despite the hair-do.
ReplyDeleteI'd be more mortified if I was the scriptwriter, just quietly...
How did you not get BMX Bandits? Seriously...
ReplyDeleteIs it too late to nominate you for the Gold Logie?
LOL the hair. OMG you have reversed in age. Like Benjamin Button.
ReplyDeleteTHAT is gold. Pure gold my dear. Awesome hair btw..
ReplyDeleteOMG that is SO funny. And you were SO cute!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Linda, you're gorgeous! The mullet perm I had was far worse.
ReplyDeleteThat is .... that is.... I dont know what I am even trying to say. But I was grinning like a moron the whole way through watching. Very cool Ms Sackville! Your costar was a bit of a spunk - was there ever any tongue action?
ReplyDeleteA pretty young star was born on screen and went on to shine so bright on the page. Bet you never thought back then you would have come so far you famous author you xx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, weren't the 80's terrible?! Still my favourite decade though!
ReplyDeleteThe kiss, the shorts, the hair...where to begin!!!
ReplyDeletePriceless!

ReplyDeleteThis is BRILLIANT!!!!! I vote for a return of this show to 2012 programming!
ReplyDeleteI am smiling from ear to ear. Everything about that is GOLD!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm meant to laugh, but I think you looked (and still do) absolutely stunning! Yeah, OK, so the hair and the clothes leave a bit (lot) to be desired, but it WAS the 80's!
ReplyDeleteOMFG. #thatisall
ReplyDeleteGold! :)
ReplyDeleteFor a minute there I thought it was Joanie from Happy Days...
ReplyDeleteKerri, my browser won't play it. Should I be grateful ?......
ReplyDeleteOh that kiss!
ReplyDeleteThink I might have busted something from laughing too hard. With you as always love, never at you.
Thank you for sharing, you are a superstar.
My God I used to LOVE Butterfly Island. Such a tease at the end when it looks like he is going in for smooch - he's a hottie :)
ReplyDeleteI want to see more! HAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteYou smooth talker!
ReplyDeleteSo reading scripts of this ilk inspired you to become a writer? How did you never end up on Neighbours?? Teen Kezza goes for the pash!! Love. It.
ReplyDeletethat's it, i'm off to NFSA to go digging for buried treasure … anyone else want to confess? ps. if you had been in BMX Bandits you would have kissed my friend James! xt
ReplyDeleteOh the things I have missed here in the US. :-)
ReplyDelete(Hmmm - they do occasionally show unshown pilots here ... )
Stunner!
ReplyDeleteDigging that "Kath" hairdo!! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! On a side note I am nearly finished your book and I am loving it (and learning - gives me new insight into my poor young anxious child)
ReplyDeleteTake it from me,
ReplyDeletebe proud girl, the vintage always gets better with age.. it was lovely to have met
you last night with Valerie, I listen while I’m learning... Congratulations on
your success ;-)
After picking myself up off the floor, I realised on the third viewing that your younger 'brother' had more to be embarrassed about - seriously!
ReplyDeleteSo where do you keep the Logie???
ReplyDeleteLoved it, babe. If ever I am feeling blue I will just think of those shorts. If I'm suicidal, the hair.
